Gift yourself 3-5 minutes for this delicious grounding practice next time you are able to get out into nature. Notice how you feel and what is healed after this simple and potent practice of grounding through your senses.
Stand or sit with the soles of your feet on the Earth. Allow your bare feet to ground into the Earth like roots weaving down from a summertime bloom.
Expand your awareness through your senses and simply track the current of sensory perception arising through the moment.
Allow your sense of TOUCH to feel roots growing down into the Earth from the soles of your feet.
Do you notice a current of warmth, cold, vibration, connection coming up from the Earth and into your body? What are you noticing about the connection of your feet to the Earth? What is your soul sensing through the soles of your feet?
Set your attention on your tongue and allow your sense of TASTE to amplify.
Shift your awareness to your feet. What are you tasting through the soles of your feet? Do you notice a bitter, sweet, salty taste arising?
With each inhale, allow your roots to expand as your body receives a deeper sense of grounding. Notice the stream of awareness coming through your nose. How fluid does your inhale feel? How is this current informing your sensory pathway of SMELL?
What do you notice through your expanded awareness around the sense of smell? How far away can you cast your awareness for your sense of smell?
With each exhale, allow your body to soften into your strong expanding roots growing deep into the Earth as you ground into your sense of HEARING.
Can you hear the texture of your exhale? What else do you notice streaming through the current of sound, entering from your inner and outer environment, as you ground into the Earth? Are these sounds close or far away? How far away can you focus your pathway of hearing? Can you focus your attention to hear your own heart beating and blood flowing?
Gently open your eyes to a soft gaze. Where are you choosing to set your focus? Is your vision narrow or expanded through your sense of SIGHT.
Is there a color streaming through or presenting itself to you? What does this color mean to you?
After 3-5 minutes, when you feel complete with this practice, take a moment to reflect on your experience. What has shifted? What has remained the same?
What specific colors, textures, vibrations are streaming through your pathways of sensory perception? What is expressing through your Body Current intelligence? How might you imprint this awareness with 3 words?
